Easy Bath Bombs

Bath bombs are a fun and easy homemade Christmas gift for the bath lovers on your list. (For the ones who prefer to shower all the time you can make shower steamers.) You can make a big batch and give them to all of your friends!

I like to use peppermint, vanilla, and orange essential oils around my home during the holidays. Vanilla and Orange creates a warm scent I love and Peppermint is a nice refreshing scent.

Don’t forget to make some for yourself to help you relax during the holidays.

I see many bath bomsbs for sale now but most of the time I’m not happy with the ingredients, because they are often questionable. They can also get pretty pricey. Making your own saves you money and allows you to make sure they contain only safe ingredients.

Put the bath bombs in some cute packaging and they make the perfect holiday gift.

It can be a fun gift for kids too. Just fill them with little toys you already have at home and the kids forgot about. They will have fun to play with them in the bathtub again. It also can help to get them in the bathtub.

I have to recipes for you today. Without and with Cornstarch. The cornstarch in a bath bomb has just one job: It slows down the reaction. The effect is that the fizziness may last 3 or 4 minutes, instead of only seconds.

  1. Grab a large bowl and mix together baking soda, (epsom salt), (cornstarch), citric acid, and dried ingredients, if using.
  2. In another small bowl, mix together coconut oil, water, essential oils, and coloring, if using.
  3. Slowly add the liquid mix to the dry ingredients. Do this slowly as you’re not wanting to have any fizzing. Stir until it looks like wet sand.
